Networks Blog Stories 3: María Gómez

Christmas Time is Here! And it´s also time for the 3rd Networks Blog Story. María Gómez performed in Networks shows from the very beginning and is another real Networks Theatre veteran. Here are her 10 answers!

1. What’s your name? María Gómez

2. Do you have a Networks name? María G.

3. How many shows have you appeared in? 13!

4. Name them! Beauty and the Beast (1st one it was done), Millenium, Robin Hood (first one it was done as well), Treasure Planet, Bamboo Princess, Welcome to Sweetville, Beauty and the Beast (panto!), Robin Hood 1, Kindertransport, Robin Hood 2, Snow white, Frankenstein, A Christmas Carol. (I think I haven't forgotten any of them...)

5. What was your first show? The first Beauty and the Beast!

6. What are your earliest memories of the shows? When I think of my first shows it always comes to my mind: black trousers and a white t-shirt!! :)

7. What is your earliest/favourite/scariest memory of Nick? I remember one time at one of my first theatres when he suddenly started shouting and throw a pinapple juice that hit on the floor and all of us got covered of it. I was scared that time :P And another moment I remember is he crying when we did Kindertransport. I didn't know Nick was able to cry till that moment...

8. What has been your favourite show to date? Robin Hood 1!!!!

9. Do you have a favourite moment in a show or memorable moment in rehearsal? I remember when we were rehearsing Kindertransport we were all very near to each other and I really felt lots of 'team moments' there, more than in any other show. It also was great doing Robin Hood 1 and 2 I think those were the moments when I most enjoyed the theatre.

10. What is your favourite photograph of any production? I think that's a good family photo ^^ N.B. The photo is from Robin Hood 1 (June 2006).

11. Are there any ideas you’d like to give Nick when he’s planning productions. Stories or subjects that you think might make good shows? I'd always wanted him to do 'The Phantom of the opera' but I know it's really difficult so... I'll let him decide, 'cause I think he's doing a good job :)

12. Finally can you sum up Networks Theatre in just one word? MAGIC.
